Daka Network was born in 2019 with an exchange programm between professionals form the social and educational field in Dar Es Salaam, Tansania and Hamburg, Germany. We found wonderful perspectives, common challenges, friendship and great inspiration. Out of the initial programm grew many cooperations and ideas, which we want to share on this webpage.
And decided to continue on. We are planning more exchange programms, now focusing on education for sustainable development and strategies against climate change.
History and Organizations
In 2018 and 2019, dock europe e.V. together with GNRC implemented a professional exchange program for social workers between Dar es Salaam and Hamburg called “Tuko Pamoja”. The experience of this successfully conducted project gave rise to a mulittude of collaborations and broad discussions on global inequality, education quality and inclusion, sustainability and cooperation. In 2020 GNRC had to terminate the partnership due to restucturing and SANA joined as cooperation partner on the Tansanian side. We are active members of the Sister City Partnership between Dar Es Salaam and Hamburg. Find more in German language here: https://hamburg-daressalaam.de/
